Toby’s Sports honored for Gold Seal of Excellence by DTI-Certified Establishment

Toby’s was recently honored as the only Gold Awardee for the 2009 Department of Trade and Industry-Certified Establishment (CE) program, which gives due recognition to establishments that uphold the rights of consumers and practice responsible business.

The DTI’s CE program aims to promote and foster the highest level of business ethics and uphold a fair and honest marketplace through voluntary self-regulation and service excellence.

The award was given on October 27 at the Crown Plaza Hotel and accepted by Toby’s Sports Chairman and CEO, Roberto S. Claudio and Toby’s President, Jose S. Claudio.

Significantly, Toby’s was the only gold awardee for this year. Says Claudio, “This recognition from DTI is solid proof that Toby's Sports put consumers first because we are passionate in giving them the best products and services possible. This award is a testament to Toby's Sports thirty years of excellence.”

The award also recognizes Toby’s best practices and programs. A testament to this is Toby’s dedicated customer service which is backed by rigorous customer service training. Toby’s also ensures to get customer feedback thru its Toby’s questionnaire wherein customers recommend new brands/ items to tap. Toby’s also offers special marketing promos and 0% installment programs that make products more affordable and give various payment options.

Toby’s is also on the front line of sports advocacies like the Junior Volleyball League, the Youth Badminton Championships, and the Summer Tennis Festival—all aimed at engaging the youth across the country in sports. It is also a premier patron of charity work that support less fortunate children and is also a staunch advocate against drug abusers. To support these causes, Toby’s Sports regularly engages in outreach programs and donates sports equipment to street children, such as those in CAMP BAGONG DIWA (center for street children on drugs) and the BOYS TOWN.

The company has also been leading green initiatives in solid waste management, water and power conservation, and the recycling and rehabilitation of old sports equipment/ fitness equipment.
