It's summer. It's hot. And where else can you best extinguish the heat: the beach. Summer isn’t summer if you are not going for a splash and really, the beach is the best place to do it.

Beach babes and bums flock on white sand beaches, with their friends and family alike. But really, aside from sun-bathing and drinking till dawn with friends, what fun activities can you do that can make you benefit at the same time?

Thanks to the beach's very open space, it gives you enough freedom to explore your horizons. And believe it or not, there a lot of activities that might even help you burn calories but will let you have fun as well.

Taking the first slot - Ultimate Frisbee.

One of the most neglected activities that should be included in everyone's list is ULTIMATE FRISBEE. It is fun and doesn’t really need too many gears to play. You just need a FRISBEE and you can start playing. More than a game, your body benefits a lot too. Throwing a Frisbee stretches your upper back and works your arm muscles. It is a good cardiovascular exercise too as you will spend most of your time throwing, catching and running. Get your Ultimate Frisbee now!

Go KAYAKING. Kayaking is one of the most popular activities in beaches. It lets you explore other places without making you feel you are exercising at all. Paddle, let the kayak glide, or if you are the more of the adventurous type, you can take your kayak with you and go shooting down white water rapids. It’ll make your adrenaline rush and burn more calories because they use larger muscle groups both the upper and lower region. So if you are looking at toning those arms, thighs and buttocks, kayaking is the right sport. Get a Kayak now!

SWIM. This activity lets you enjoy a whole body workout, meaning you will burn calories more. Take a few laps on the beach or race with your friend to the buoy or something. Swimming on a beach makes your body work out harder than swimming on the pool. The waves and the water current creates resistance, thus, making you swim harder. The harder you swim, the more calories you burn.

When swimming always wear proper clothing. Use googles too. Salt water can hurt your eyes when you swim. Protect them by wearing protective goggles.

And after taking a few laps, replenish your body with liquids. Swimming can make you body sweat more than usual that’s why you need to drink plenty of water. Always brings a water bottle with you when you plan to swim.Get your goggles and water bottle now!

Now, if you are no fan of the water, and playing Frisbee doesn’t thrill you, then Beach Volleyball could be it. Beach Volleyball is every beach bum’s favourite sport. A few players to toss with, a ball and a net are all you need to play this sport. It gives you a meaner workout because it is harder to play on sand than on court. The uneven surface of the sands restrains movement of your feet, so you exert effort more, hence, burns fats and calories more.

Beach Volleyball is one of the sports that most body-conscious wannabes engage in. More than a sport that really shapes up your body, it is a fun and thrilling game to play as well. Get a volleyball now!

RUN. Run wild. Run free. Run along the seashore line barefoot or with your crosstrainers. Running on barefoot lets you feel the sand embrace your feet, yet running without shoes mind hurt your feet as there may be sharp objects, sea shells or jellyfish along the way. Best is you run with your runningshoes on your first sprint then take off your shoes and walk barefoot to relax your toes.

When is the best time to run? Run during low tide. It is easier to run during low tide because the beach is firmer and flatter; high tide makes the sand softer and uneven making it harder to run. Get your runningshoes now!

Can't believe I can burn 850 calories if I incorporate those 3 activities. I'm still enjoying the c-c-cold holidays now... but after all the eating I may be having for this season, I definitely needed to work out for summer. :)
