Dear Doc, I've been an avid tennis player, but all my friends are slowly switching to badminton. Can I do both at the same time?

Most definitely. Just remember, the biggest difference between the two racket sports is the wrist mechanics. If you are prepared for this and go through a good stretching and strengthening program for your forearm, there is no reason why you cannot succeed.
And then there is the footwork but if you are a typical jock, this should not be a problem. A good trainer will do the trick. I doubt if you will be ultra-competitive with both since each sport will take away from the other but what the heck. You are happy and you are fit. Without the trophies, you still have your friends and your health. The world is s-o-o-o simple!
